JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC
The cosmetic filler we use at Dermlounge to volumize the midface is JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC. This injectable has been FDA-approved to specifically treat signs of aging in the midface region, which are most commonly caused by volume loss. It is formulated with hyaluronic acid (HA) which hydrates and plumps the cheeks to provide a fuller appearance. If you would like to receive a more contoured and youthful appearance, JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC may be a viable option if you are over the age of 21.
Procedure
After arriving to our office for your appointment, you will be shown to a treatment room. We will complete a facial evaluation to understand the areas you would like to address and discuss any potential side effects with you. As this dermal filler is created with lidocaine, the first injection will be administered and a numbing sensation should start to take effect. Once this occurs, any remaining product will be delivered using an ultrafine needle. In clinical studies, this procedure causes only minimal discomfort and offers long-term results. These can be apparent in the midface and cheeks immediately, creating a more volumized look.
The results commonly last up to two years, but touch-up treatments may be needed to maintain the desired aesthetic long-term.
Recovery
Following the administration of this injectable, ice may be applied to the face to reduce redness and swelling. Overall, patients should be able to resume normal activities within 24 hours as this is a non-surgical and minimally invasive treatment.
